ZBorsa, stocks and foreign exchange trading app for Ziraat Bankası
Ziraat Bankası, the largest public bank in Turkey, sought the expertise of ForInvest to revamp their stock trading app ZBorsa. Their app had an outdated interface and lacked several contemporary features that the client aimed to offer their valued customers.
Challenge: Using red as the primary color
Ziraat Bankası's branding heavily relies on its primary color: red. From their banking apps and their marketing materials to their branch interior designs, red is associated with Ziraat when it comes to banking sector.
Using the color red as a primary color in user interface design is always challenging. While it is often associated with warning or negativity, in the context of financial markets, it also represents the action of selling.
Alternative color schemes such as pink and teal, utilized by similar investment products to represent sell and buy actions, were considered but decided against, with regards to the clients's wishes to keep the experience familiar for their customers.
In the end, a single shade of red was picked for both primary actions and action to sell (Sat), paired with a green for buying (Al), and two shades of grey to complement them.
